When did you wean your baby/toddler off a bottle?

How old was your child when you weaned them off bottles? My LO just turned 1. She takes 2 bottles a day ( half milk, half formula....transitioning to all milk) and doesn't seem ready to give up the bottle yet.

My child was 3 when she finally gave up the bottle. She only used a bottle to go to sleep at night. It was a comfort thing for her so it was hard to get her to let go.

I think it was about 15 months and he switched immediately to a strae cup, didn't even need weaned. Just never gave him back the bottle and he was fine.

Around 15 months my doctor said stop within the next couple of weeks. She has refused milk since then though.

With my daughter before a year old . She bite the top of the nipples off so she went to a sippy cup no problem , with my son he was like 15 months but only got it at night time after a year .

My first at 8m as we were able to stop supplementing and my second never took a bottle but the dr told me 15m was the recommendation, for bedtime especially

My son was a work in progress he used cups during the day but wanted a bottle at night it. I just said we can’t keep doing this he’s too older was 2 and I was like this has to stop so one day I took them away and told him a baby needed them and he wasn’t a baby anymore he was a big boy. It was one very rough night I offered a cup of water at night which he of course refused but got thirsty enough he drank it. Within the week he wasn’t asking for the bottle. Our 7 month old has had a transitional sippy cup since 6 months old I give him a few ounces of water when he eats breakfast and dinner.

We didn’t until 18 months. I think that’s the recommendation, is to have them off the bottle by then. Some kids get off early and some go longer with no issues. I did notice bottles and pacifiers were starting to mess with my son’s teeth and delaying his speech though. (I know that’s not the case for every child) Everything got better when we took them away!
