How loud do you put your white noise machine?

I read an article the other day about how loud white noise could damage a baby’s hearing and it has me so paranoid. But my baby will NOT stay asleep unless the white noise is as loud as it can go. What do you guys do?

It’s supposed to be about as loud as a running shower

We cut out our white noise when we sleep trained and baby doesn’t seem to miss it at all 🤷🏻‍♀️

We use the ocean sound instead of the white noise one. We were reading a lot on white noise and decided to switch!

We have a Hatch and have it set at about 50% and it’s maybe 2-3 feet from him. Helps drown out the sound of our loud pups a bit :)

We use an echo dot , we usually do volume 7 for naps ( loud house) and volume 3/4 for bedtime

Ours is only loud enough so that when his door is opened the tv is barely audible. His room is right off of the living. So it’s loud enough but it can definitely get much louder! We also went down in volume when we started sleep training and in the day he doesn’t get the noise anymore just at night.

We have ours in her room at around 50%. Enough so it keeps her asleep but not loud enough so we can’t hear her on the baby monitor.
