Not baby related but need to vent

So my husbands cousin sent a baby shower invite, Ive never met her and he’s not close to her at all plus she lives states away so we didn’t go to the shower BUT I sent a gift. A handmade knitted baby blanket w/matching hat and 2 adorable outfits that came with shoes.

Well my SIL called a bit ago and tells us that their mother my MIL bought more gift and put our name on it. I guess she opened this expensive swing and it said our names on it and the sister that was able to make it questioned the mom because she knew she bought it and my MIL shushed her.

My SIL tried telling us she doesn’t think it was because we didn’t do enough but rather she thinks we all could have done more and showed up to the shower.

I just think it’s so rude of her to do that. I thought what we got was more then adequate considering our relationship with her. And my husbands response is “that’s just my mom, she’s getting older” which is response to all the inappropriate things she does like telling my SIL if she give her baby this one middle name she won’t claim the child as her grandchild...

I swear I married into craziness
