Introducing solids

My daughter’s doctor wants us to start on solids now that she is 5 months. They recommended introducing one new, single ingredient, food a week. Any recommendations for a brand of baby food? Also, how much & often? Tried a teaspoon or two tonight of cereal.

I’ve been making my girl homemade baby food but I’ve also bought some. I like beech nut organic baby purées! I offer her some after nursing in the mornings and then again in the evenings. Right now she’s just eating about an ounce at a time.

Thank you! I bought a couple jars of that today actually so glad it’s good stuff.

I made my own with a baby bullet for both babies! No preservatives and no questions about where my babies food was made 😊

It's super easy, most things you can just steam until soft and then blend with breastmilk or water until thin 😊😊

Thank you! I like the idea of knowing what’s in the food, but am not much of a cook ;)

I just started my daughter on solids. First week she had baby porridge which she absolutely loved. Today we had to introduce another meal so I gave her purée, carrots, apples and parsnips. She did not enjoy it 😂 she actually shuddered this was her during meal time tonight 😂😂

We did oatmeal first and she had a reaction so I went right to veggies . She is doing well on green beans . I’m using beech nut initially to see what she likes then plan I’m making my own

We’ve started on rice cereal at 4.5 months and loves it so far! We do a couple spoons at dinner time after her bottle and will soon do it twice a day. Then at 6 months we’ll do solids/real food purées!

Thank you! Super helpful! We did just a couple spoonfuls too. Good to know that’s enough to start.
