I was up and down all night feeling crampy but trying to ignore it and get more sleep. About 4 o’clock this morning I told my husband we needed to head to the hospital.
I drove myself to the hospital and my husband stayed back home to get my other boys (ages 7 and 2) situated and brought to his Mom’s.
I was having contractions about 5-7 mins apart before I left my home. The hospital is about 45 mins away.
I had one hand on the steering wheel and had my phone in the other trying to time my contractions on an app.
When I got to the hospital I was 5 cm dilated and having contractions 3-5 mins apart. My OB wasn’t even on call but the doctor that delivered my first born came in and broke my water about 7:11 am.
I called my husband and he said he was on his way and had just dropped off the kids. I told him to HURRY!
My contractions started picking up by a LOT and I asked if I could have anything for pain while they prepared the epidural and they told me know since I was so progressed.
....I was told they were getting my epidural ready and when the anesthesiologist walked in finally he was talking super slow and quietly telling me there was no time for an epidural but they would try a spinal. I was in the middle of a contraction on the verge of passing out and I told him “okay let’s get the show on the road then!”
The anesthesiologist was a real jerk and said something about there being a risk of a headache. 🙄 ...like dude I will punch you right now give me some pain relief NOW.
Next thing I know the nurse was checking me again while I’m screaming, cussing, crying and said there’s no time for anything we are about to have this baby.
He was here within 3 pushes him at 7:44 am.
My husband missed his arrival by about 15 mins and that KILLS ME 😢
My other two kiddos were induced at 39 weeks and labor was slow and drawn out.
This kiddo gave us a run for our money and came out whether we were ready or not! He just came so fast even the nurses were surprised how it all went down.
