Little bit of background. I am due my first baby next month and due to having been at university not entitled to any maternity pay, for this reason I have applied for universal credit till I return to uni in September. I find out how much I will be receiving next week.

Me and the boyfriend currently live with his mum (on the waiting list for council house) and have been completely financially independent of each other for the 7 years we have been together (lived together 2 years)

So here is my question, how do you work out who pays what? We've never been shy about money and if one needed an extra £50 till pay day there's never been an issue but Im feeling very anxious that for the first time since I was 16 (now 26) I actually need to rely on someone else for financial support.... Which sounds silly because we're about to be a family.

We have planned to sit down and talk about it but any advice or tips would be very much welcomed xx
