Funerals overrated and OVERPRICED?!

Courtney

I LOVE the idea of this... after my grandpa's recent and unexpected passing, we realized we couldnt afford the $10,000 price tag of the funeral💔 we somehow got lucky and his sister (very rich) covered the entire cost. If it weren't for her, we would have been so limited on options with so little time.

My question is, would you do this? Do you think it's in any way "unethical" or "outdated" as some people say.

I 10000000% want to do this for myself. I believe funeral homes somewhat prey on the grievance of broken people and use it as means to upcharge their services. I mean no disrespect to anyone who works in morgues or funeral homes, but for something like death that literally comes to every human on earth, the price is ridiculous. I'm sure some people have life insurance to cover costs, but for many that's not an option (as it was for my family).

Funeral services like open caskets are the norm in america, what's it like for other countries? I've heard that some people view it as a bit extreme for the entire family to view the body. What's your thoughts? I'm genuinely curious as to how others do it. Would you go back to this "natural" way? I would!
