Are you offering your baby juice?

My mom and I disagree and go back and forth on parenting all the time. Ever since my baby was 6 months she’s been pressuring me to give juice. She’s always making comments about her parenting of my siblings and saying we came out fine. She says I go too much by the books & follow what the pediatrician says too much 🙄

I think people believe keeping their kids alive and being a good parent are the same thing... so annoying when people disagree with your choices and their reasoning is "my kids turned out fine" 🙄

The only time my older daughter (almost 4) gets juice is occasionally at her daycare with meals (and honestly I don’t like this but I’m not going to throw a fit about it). But absolutely never for my baby, and she won’t get it at all until she’s 2 at the same school. Juice is basically sugar water and has little actual nutritional value.

No. Too much sugar. I have given her a small drop of cordial in her water to try and encourage her to drink it (health visitor suggested it) but then the midwife at breastfeeding club told me not to worry so much about her not being interested in water. So I stopped. Now I offer her plain water... Which she still isn't interested in.

We don't drink juice so I don't see why we'd introduce it to baby. We'll occasionally have a small glass of OJ on the weekends with breakfast but that's only when we remember to buy it! 
We are NOT the perfect eaters, but we're using introducing our son to solids as a chance to look closely at our eating habits and what we want to pass on to him and what we don't. It's a chance for a redo!

I prefer to give my baby smoothies with fresh fruit. Some juices have high fructose corn syrup in them and it's not healthy.
