Oatmeal

BB

Is baby oatmeal really any different than the rolled oats that I eat - other than it’s mushier?

Starting to prepare to introduce solids to LO (pedestrian said I could start any time now since he’s “showing readiness” ticks the milestones, but we also discussed the WHO’s view on it) but i think I’ll be waiting waiting a bit longer - so please don’t be coming at me with “you have to wait!” (He’s almost 20weeks)

So, do I really need to stock up on baby oats? Or can I just over mush some of my oats when I make them for myself?

We plan on staring with oats instead of rice due to nutritional and fiber value (don’t want to start off too “clogged up” 💩😂)- but I’m open to others if you have anymore information on the subject! (Discussed with my Paediatrician today and he agrees with oats over rice, but also mentioned mild veggies would be great, too. You think I would have thought to ask him “hey, is there any difference between baby oats and my rolled oats?” 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️)

We are going to do baby led weaning, so no purées for us at the start (only when we are on the go).
