I am at a loss at what to do for my baby. Her skin has been so dry for the last month or so. It’s to the point where a bath with no soap dries her out to the point of looking like a wrinkly dry elephant. It use to be so bad that her face had red bumps that would ooze and crust. Thankfully otc cortisone (per dr) helped. After the oozing cleared up it would get red and glitchy and flake. We tried plain coconut oil which helps in the moment but not enough to moisturize her skin. I tried using just breast milk in the bath and then tried cetaphil baby wash but both left her skin very dry and flaky. I tried aveeno baby eczema night time balm which worked better than coconut oil but she was always sweaty when I picked her up no matter what she was wearing. I think it possibly clogged her pores. The dr prescribed ketoconazol cream for the inflamed red areas and said to use aquaphor with it. The flakiness has gone away but it’s been a week and still her skin looks like this. Her neck is constantly wet no matter how often I dry it. Anyone have any suggestions? Im desperate to get that baby soft skin 😩
