difference between intrathecal and epidural?

Question

I just seen a birth story post on here and the lady said she had an intrathecal
what’s the difference between that and the epidural?
is it a matter of what the hospital offers?

Its similar but not the same, intrathecal is directly into the spinal canal/fluid where an epidural is placed in the membrane around the spine which then diffuses into the spinal fluid.  Intrathecal is faster... technically  but I'm not sure of how it is placed vs an epidural or if it's a single injection...  🤔
