I’ve taken the pill for about a year and a half now. For the first year, it worked well for me and I had no side effects. However, for the past six months, I’ve started getting irregular periods and painful cramps and I’m very good at taking it on time. I’m also breaking out and having mood swings. Painful cramps and irregularity were the main reasons I started the pill in the first place and now the pill is no longer effective at relieving those. I plan to stop taking it and get an IUD after this month. I know some pills don’t work for some people. But it’s different in my case because this pill worked for a while for me and didn’t cause problems until a year into taking it. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this with having certain side effects or problems with the pill AFTER it did work for a certain length of time at first.
