Hand foot and mouth?

Hi, my son is 3 years old. I noticed during his baths recently that he has a lot of extremely raised bumps on his back. All over. They don’t itch or hurt him. They’re literally only on his back I’m gonna make an appointment but until then what does this look like? I’ve been washing him and keeping it moisturized thinking it’d go away but nothing has changed. It’s just weird how they randomly appeared but don’t seem to bother him.

Hand foot and mouth is more red from my experience. And comes with him feeling like crap and a fever not eating etc.

I was thinking my detergent cuz i have been pretty itchy from it as well and got a rash (I’m also pregnant so I thought maybe that’s why I have a rash) but either way I’m just gonna use a milder detergent change all my sheets and see if it helps any. Someone said it could be heat rash so I’ll also take that into consideration

Could be a viral rash or maybe allergy? New detergent? It could be HFM but every time my kids had it it’s more red with a fever.

My son got a rash like this, chest and back, when he was allergic to grapes. Super weird allergy and in my opinion a weird reaction. But we narrowed down his daily activities and foods and deduced it was the grapes/grape jelly he was eating and the bumps went away after like 2 days of no grape products. He’s 5 now and if he gets grapes by accident they come back, but now he also gets an itchy throat so we have gotten an official allergy card from his doctor so people will finally listen to me. Our other thought was pet allergy and tested that theory too-recommendation from his doctor at the time.

Thank you we’ll look into!

That looks kind of like heat rash. Skip the moisturizer and just keep it clean and dry. If he gets too hot, it causes pores to get clogged (heat rash). It should go away on its own. If that doesn’t help, it may be another skin condition.

Just put him in light cotton or breathable pajamas and no footies or fleece. If he wakes up hot, immediately put some cool washcloths on any places that seem affected. Then just air dry.

Thank you so much if it is that makes sense. I’m staying with my mom for a bit until I get all my things together to move with my fiancé and she always has the heat up full blast so we sweat during the night and my son hates when I turn the fan on 😩

Hand foot and mouth also tends to be on the soles of the hands and feet, in the mouth, and in the diaper area more heavily than the trunk

Ah okay then I literally have no clue what this is especially cuz it doesn’t bother him whatsoever. Hopefully the doctor can do something

Maybe an allergic reaction to soap?

That looks more like scabies than HF&M

Mine didn’t spread! But if it’s not itchy then it may not be scabies. I’d think an allergic reaction would itch like hell

I don’t think it’s that cuz he’s been around other kids and my family and myself. Wouldn’t it have steady spread by now?

Definitely not hand foot and mouth. Looks like an allergic reaction.

Just went through hfm with my 14m old. He had bumps like this on his legs but more red. Blisters on hands and around mouth. If you press on a rash and it “blanches” or turns white it is nothing to be concerned about. Especially if no behaviour changes or fever. Sometimes clothes or moisturizers cause some irritation that clears up on its own. Pay attention for a fever or loss of appetite
