Baby shopping causing arguments

So I am 34 weeks pregnant and this whole entire pregnancy I have been asking my boyfriend when we were going to start baby shopping and his answer has always been "we got a long time before we need to". Well now that I'm close I have a budget of $1,000.00 for baby necessities (not including carseat or crib) and it is 100% my money not his, he is still saying that we don't need to start baby shopping yet and that my budget is unreasonable and irresponsible because in his mind babies only NEED onsies, 3 bottles, and diapers as you go. He doesn't want to contribute which is fine but now he is arguing with me everyday about spending too much money on the baby and how I'm stupid when I still have 6 weeks left before delivery. I just feel he isn't thinking logically and him trying to control my finances for my child which took us 7 years to conceive, is just childish. But I don't want to argue about it I want him to just accept what my plan is and move on but he won't stop talking about it.
