Parenting styles ruining friendships?

Question

Anyone else feel like friendships you had pre-children are strained because you and your friends has vastly different parenting styles? Or is it just me? 😞 
My best friend, whom I’ve known for 20 years, and I just have SUCH different parenting values, and I find it really hard to have my kids around her 👀

My best friend and I parent very differently. I don't think it has put a strain on our friendship. We joke about each other's parenting sometimes (we've been friends for 15 years and have made fun of each other since the beginning.) I wouldn't do some of the things she does and vice versa, but I respect her as a mother wanting to parent her child the way she wants to.

Nope, my friends parent differently than me but it doesn’t concern me, they aren’t my kids and they don’t care how I parent either

Only once. But it was more about her not liking my traditional SAHM role than a parenting issue. My best friend of 30 years patented differently than I do. Our friendship survived even though I didn't always agree with her parenting choices. I'm sure I do things that she doesn't agree with either. We respect each other enough to know that we love our children and we are doing what we think is best for them.

This most definitely ruined ALL my childhood friendships.  They ask turned out to be terrible mothers in my opinion.  Once I had my kid I decided I didn't want my kid around their kids because my son would become tainted or something. 
I know it sounds extreme but it's how I felt.

Yes. My in laws are like that and my best friend is completely different. It’s hard. Both believe in throwing toys at the kids to get them to behave. We are the opposite, therefore we don’t visit very often.

Yup 🙋‍♀️ my oldest friend of 30 years, we went to nursery together. We used to be able to talk about everything but we got together when I had my son and her daughter was born a week after my son. Anyway, she was calling her few month old an asshole, bitch and swearing like a trooper. Bear in mind that was her 3rd child.
I was taken back and was shocked she spoke to her child/ren like that. It may have been in a kidding way talking like that to her but I'd never call my son or any child that or swear in front of them. 
Made me rethink our friendship tbh.

Yep. Unfortunately my 3 best friends ganged up on me a few days ago because I corrected someone's seatbelts position(had nothing to do with them)

I was the first to have kids (despite being almost 30). We struggled through me having one but by the time I had two I was pretty much totally ditched. When I got pregnant with our third and last, they straight up ended our friendship (this was 2 of my best friends of almost 20 years) I guess having kids vs not is just too different.

So far I only have one friend with kids and we parent completely different. I don’t agree with a lot of the things she does. Some of them I don’t understand bc it’s cultural and vice versa. When we come together she discipline her kids the way she sees fit and I do the same for my kids. There’s no judgement and no comments. But the one thing that keeps us together is that we’re both trying our best and can relate to that at all times.
