Homebirth story & arrival of my baby girl!

So I had a homebirth last weekend, and can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made. It was so nice to feel safe and secure at home, surrounded by all of our things with lots of plants and candles around. The pain did get intense at times, but honestly it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle (even though in the moment it could feel quite the contrary). I didn’t even tear apparently, which the midwives were amazed at cause I’m on the slimmer-side.

Looking back, a natural homebirth was a wonderful empowering experience that I will be forever proud to tell my daughter that she was born at home in our quirky SE London flat surrounded by love and warmth.

She was due 29/02, but arrived a little early on 22 February 2020 at 22:26. She weighed in at 7lbs 7oz (3.4kg) with a full head of hair! It’s only been 6 days with her but I’m completely obsessed already. Here’s our little baby Lua ❤️
