I have an older cousin with a 12 year old, let's call him J. Hes a month younger than my little sister & I dont want to say there's something "wrong" with him, but hes not at the same developmental age as her. For example, he speaks in very choppy sentences & just not mature enough for his age. My sister has a couple classes with him & says he NEVER takes his P.E. uniform or even his computer to school & keeps his head down & sleeps in class. It makes me angry because how does his mom NOT know hes not doing his part as a student to actually participate in his classes? He went through this "phase" a couple years ago where he got obsessed with puppies & dogs to the point that now he LITERALLY calls himself "doggy". Gets on all fours in public & everything. Our family has tried to tell my cousin that he might need help from a professional but she just brushes it off, idk if maybe she doesnt want to believe that he most likely has a disability but I'm at the point where it's so aggravating for me & I cant keep watching him get made fun of at school & it seems like she just doesnt care. I feel like maybe I'm not doing enough for him as his family member.
