My son is eight months old and has a fever of 104. I spent all day at the Naval Hospital where my son gets treatment. My husbands in the military so that is what is provided. He had a fever of 103 all day. What the nurse told me was to just give them Tylenol. She said there were no other medications that she could give him and that it didn’t seem like he needed anything else. She even told me to not give Tylenol so his fever could run it’s course?! We got home and he fell asleep within that timeframe he didn’t have a fever again until we just woke up and it’s at 104. I angry that she told me that it was just a cold and we couldn’t do anything because surely that isn’t correct right? My son is BURNING up. I’m using a cold compress and gave him the highest dose of Tylenol I could for his weight. I feel alone and nervous.
