6 weeks brown spotting for one day?

Currently six weeks pregnant and had brown spotting two days ago that only lasted for a day.. went in for an ultrasound and everything was where it supposed to but they could not detect a heartbeat yet. Had blood work done but waiting on results. Anyone else have a similar experience?
