Ladies, does the No Contact Rule really work?

Just curious about your opinions on this. When was the last time you used the No Contact Rule? Was it effective? What did you learn from using this method?

Never heard of such thing either. You can’t move on when you keep holding onto what was but isn’t anymore. I thought that was the whole point of breaking up?

The last time I used this method was when I broke up with and left my boyfriend at the time who was abusive. I broke up with him and moved six hours away. He still tried texting and calling and telling me he loved me and he was sorry and everything. It took me a few months of replying to him to realize he was just being manipulative. I blocked him on all social media, and I blocked his number from my phone completely. I had my close family members block him as well, so there was no way he could find me. It was extremely effective. It allowed me the time and space I needed to heal and grow as an individual. I’m not saying it was easy, it was extremely hard and it broke my heart. But I knew that I would eventually feel better. I’m proud to say that it is now almost five years later, and I am happily married to a different man, we have a 2 year old, and we are so much stronger and happier than I ever could have been with my ex. So yes, I fully believe in the No Contact rule after a break up. Give yourself the time and space you need to move on from that relationship. You will find more happiness than you could imagine with someone else. Best of luck to you!

Like when you break up blocking them on everything? Ya, it worked. I was 25, and now 33 and happily married. I never text my ex again and took maybe 3 months and dating someone else to rarely think of him

What’s the no contact rule?

I’m currently using no contact. It’s hard but it’s  supposed to be the best way to leave a toxic relationship behind. He’s blocked on everything and is still trying to contact me. The best advice i can give is to not reply and keep blocking. All they want is a response and to try and suck you back in.
