In your opinion, what is the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation?

Solely for the sake of debate, what is the difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation? Where do you draw the line and why?

Update:

I’ve seen a lot of answers I like and I’m just going to add another unique example of appreciation vs appropriation. Ladies. Stop calling yourselves witches. Burning sage in your apartment before you rub your amethysts and smoke some weed next to your pentagram pillow does not make you a witch. That is appropriation. My husband’s best friend’s (names Kevin) Wiccan wedding, where a real witch came and blessed the ceremony grounds and performed a real marriage ritual was appreciation. Each guest was given a bag of stones and card card identifying what each stone was and how it is used in the Wiccan religion. The witch educated all of us about the rituals she was performing and why they are sacred and why they are important. Kevin isn’t Wiccan, but his wife is. So they invited us all to take part in something real and sacred. It truly was beautiful.

There’s a right way and a wrong way to do things, and sometimes you don’t even know what you’re doing is wrong. That’s why you need to be careful and educate yourself about people. Every culture is so special and unique in their own way and offers something that other cultures just cannot. If you take the time to learn about these people, learn as much as you can, your love for humanity only grows.
