Baby spits out food?

My baby will be exactly 6 months on the 7th and he seems interested and reaches for our plates when we eat dinner so I figured I’d start trying to give him food. I’ve tried 3 times to give him purées (apple, peaches, strawberry+banana) and he spit all of it out every time. Did anyone else’s baby do this? How long did it take for them to get over it?

I wouldn't push it personally. Sounds like he might still have thrust reflex or just isnt ready. I would try again in a week or two, if he still isn't interested try again in another week or 2 😊

Our pediatrician said to put food in the cheek instead of in the palette, it gives them a chance to move the food around get used to the texture and tase the food! Really helped us.

We took that as our son not being ready yet. Everything I’ve read online says that just because they seem interested in what you’re eating doesn’t mean they’re interested in the food necessarily. We’re going to give it another week or two and try again. They don’t have to eat baby food so I wouldn’t worry to much

Maybe try again next week and every week aftee until baby accepts the food. No need to push it on baby this early if they aren't digging it! Or try something more bland, like baby cereal mixed with breastmilk or formula (whatever you do). Could be a good transition since it will taste similar!

It takes a lil bit time for them to get use to the spoon you just keep trying eventually he will figure it out .
