For STM’s who had vaginal births, did you tear??

With my 1st 6lbs. 11oz. episiotomy, it wasn't bad at all compared to my second 7lbs. 12oz. 3rd degree laceration. I cried with pain for 8 weeks! I kept ice and numbing spray on me constantly! It took her 25 minutes to stitch me. For my third baby I told the doctor that I wanted an episiotomy, that I had better not tear.  A straight cut heals better than a jagged one!!!

I tore with my first but had no idea until they told me I did, even tho I didn’t have an epidural. My second was a pound bigger and was born in two pushes and I did not tear.

I had an episiotomy with my first. Her head has always been in the 95/96% percentile. Not sure what to expect with my 2nd.

I got a second degree tear from my first. Thankful for epidurals but the recovery was HELL. I don’t even know how many stitches I got. It took 4 months for the pain to completely go away. My sons head circumference has been in the 97th percentile since he was a newborn so.. I’m basically screwed 🙃

Yes, but only a very little bit. My first they gave me one stitch and recovery was fine. My second the year was so slight they didn't stitch it at all it just healed on its own. That recovery was even easier.

Thanks for all the responses ladies! I had a c-section with my first and am trying for a vaginal birth with this one. Looks like there’s a good chance I’ll tear😳
