Wed feb 13th @5am was my induction appointment, I didn’t sleep AT ALL the night before hand lol. My husband and I started out on the way about 3am since it’s an hour drive and we were going to get breakfast. It’s pouring rain and about 42 degrees 🙃 so after loading everything and a half in the car we set out on our way, having trouble seeing from the rain but we eventually are about to pull into ihop for breakfast when my tire EXPLODES. I didn’t want to deal with it so we just parked and ate breakfast and I decided since we are two miles from the hospital I’ll just drive with the caution lights on lol. It worked, although I went 10mph the whole time! After getting checked in the first thing they did was insert an IV in my hand and wow I never believe anyone when they say it’s such a bad part of birth but it’s totally true. Especially the placement 😖 I was a 1cm and 70% effaced to start off, so I did two rounds of cytotec and didn’t dilate anhmore so they inserted a foley balloon. I was already cramping so I asked for the IV meds since I knew it’d get worse. Just about instantly I got intense contractions that had me shaking and so I ask for an epidural at 1cm dilated knowing it would take an hour or more to get it placed. While waiting I get up to go pee and my blanket has blood all over it, I’m dripping blood on the ground as I walk, and I have a contraction before I reach the toilet that makes me pee and bleed all over myself 🙃 my husband is wiping the blood and pee off my legs for me while I try to get back in bed. My balloon comes out and I’m about 6cm I’m given more IV pain meds before they come in to do my epidural, which I’m very high for 😂 I didn’t hardly feel anything it was less than a flu shot. And for a while things were going so good I wasn’t feeling anything for a long time but I wasn’t really advancing past a 6 so they break my water which felt like someone spilled warm soup all over me lol. I started to feel one area in my back and the medicine cocktail wasn’t helping. I was crying and asking for a c section. They kept loading me up with pain meds and I fell asleep for a moment but woke up to more pain. They gave me another dose and came back to check on me, just as the nurse walked in I woke up and said I have to push. I was complete and pushed for about an hour. I kept saying im going to pass out. They put a mirror in front of me and I seen my butthole and yelled OHMYGOD what is wrong with my butt?! 🤣🤣🤣 I blacked out until I pushed my baby’s head out! I thought I’d get a break but they all yelled to keep going and he came out! I had a second degree tear and he ended up staying in the nicu for 5 days because he inhaled some fluid on his way out, but now my baby is 2weeks and 5 days old :)
