I’m expecting my first baby around 7/20/20. I’m starting to think about my registry and shower. I was kind of thinking I might just throw a shower for myself since none of my family or friends (who are all local) have offered. It feels super rude to bring it up to anyone and ask for them to throw me one. Not to mention two of my good friends threw me a bridal shower last July, so I am uncomfortable bringing it to them because they already spent time and money doing a bridal shower. Also, my husband has two young children from his first marriage and quite honestly, it feels like no one really cares about this baby (including my husband).

How tacky is it for me to throw myself a shower? I am worried it will seem like I’m begging for gifts. I really just want to celebrate my baby/pregnancy and want someone to care about it! Not to mention I really don’t have any items for baby yet. Should I just suck it up and not bother having a shower at all??
