Farewell email to coworkers...?

Is it common practice to write a good bye email on your last day? 
It used to be the thing at my job but with a ton of new people not very many are still doing this. 
However, I’ve been at my job for 8 years and I didn’t want to just leave without leaving an impression or my contact info... 
What should I write ?

I never did it but I told all my coworkers goodbye in person 🤷‍♀️

I emailed my close friend coworkers who weren’t there when I quit, the others I said goodbye in person. Everyone else found out later from the corporate email lol

I didn't. At my last job we had a WhatsApp group and I said quick goodbye there and was promptly removed from the group (before the end of the day even) and the job before that it was just me and my boss and his "fantastic" practice manager and I was feeling bitter so I just said bye and that's it.
If it's something you want to do I'd simply write that you appreciate the opportunity having worked with all the people, your number is this for anyone who wants to stay in touch and goodbye.

I don’t see the harm in letting people know your new contact info if you are handing in your work phone/laptop then you will probably have a new phone number/email address etc. but I’d be sure to keep it brief and cordial.
