Can I start ivf with no period?

Hello
I’m in the uk and lucky enough to get ivf through the NHS! 🙌I had an operation in October to remove severe endo consisting of large cysts and adhesions all over my pelvis! The waiting list for the op was a year so I was on Prostap injections💉 for 6 months to prevent the endo from getting worse! Thankfully the op went well and I’m fully recovered and ready to start IVF 🧬HOWEVER my periods haven’t returned yet 🤷‍♀️ the injections should have worn off mid dec so it has been nearly 3 months 🙈 I’m concerned I won’t be able to start ivf without my period! 🩸I have my consultation and teach booked for the beginning of April so there’s still time but has anyone started ivf without a natural period? Do they give you something to bring one on? 🤞 this whole process has been so long and frustrating that I just want to get started now 🥺

My friend had ivf and the problem was she was not ovulating and didn’t have a period. 
They tried a few things to get her period to start but it didn’t and then still did ivf and she got pregnant first round. Good luck :)

They might need to induce a period because you only start the medication on second or third day of your period. Starting it any other day is pointless it must coincide with your natural hormone cyclic nature. Anyhow they ask you things like when was your last period and if it was is regular during initial consultation when they are figuring out strategy to go with.

I didn’t have one before starting! I stopped birth control on a sunday, and started stims that friday, and never got a period in between.

If your lining is thin you can start without a period. They will do an ultrasound to check your lining. If your lining is thick they will induce a period.
I started a new ivf cycle this week without my period because my lining was thin.

That want a period so you have a fresh uterine lining. They will give you something to start it.
