Nipple flow too fast? FTM here!

My son was born a month early, he’s two weeks old and on Simlac pro-advance formula.

I have issues where it sounds like he’s swallowing air more than I’m comfortable with AND he chokes on his milk pretty often and scares the heck out of me!! I’m terrified this will cause major issues or even suffocate him at some point if I don’t fix it! I’ve been around babies my whole life and I feed him the bottle the same as all the others I’ve been around.

I’ve switched between different bottle types a few times because our Dr. Brown bottles were the main culprit of the choking, flow was too fast and we had the slowest nipples for those (or so I thought). We currently use medela bottles (I was pumping and feeding but my milk has gone down a lot) and they help a little bit.

I found out Dr. Brown makes preemie flow nipples, would those be a good idea to try? Do any other bottle companies make preemie flow nipples that you recommend? Or am I just doing something wrong?

I feel terrible and like he’s not going to be getting enough or he’s really going to get hurt one day. I feel a spring of panic every time he chokes!
