Expired pregnancy test accurate?

So my period is late (only a few days) and last night I actually almost got myself admitted into the hospital due to how depressed and moody I have been (almost felt I wanted to hurt myself)... so I decided to take a pregnancy test since I had it.. but it expired January 2018.... results were pregnant , like almost immediately. Does anyone know if because it’s expired that the results are inaccurate? I’m getting a new one any minute to see hopefully accurate results...
