Negative?

According to this app, I have two days til my period. According to my other app I have used since I was 17, i am supposed to start today... i took a test this morning and its negative... your cervix is supposed to be low and open just a little bit before and for your period, but mine is high, soft, and closed! Should I just continue to wait for my period and see if it comes within this next week?! I'm so confused!
