A break from my fiancé

I came home from work and my fiancé told me he was leaving and that his mom was on her way to get him. His mom lives 5 hours away. We talked about everything and he decided he was going for a few days and would ride back with my brother this weekend. He only took his clothes and left everything that is important to him including his grandpas gun. He promised that he’s coming back but I can’t help but think that he was just saying that because I was crying. I love him and I know he loves me but he tells me he wishes I was more affectionate. I’ve never been a real affectionate person, I wouldn’t even hug my grandma when I was a kid! He wants me to change that about myself. My question is should I change for him? Do you think he’s really going to come back?
