Update-preterm labor

So last Saturday I started having brown discharge, a pretty good amount. So, I called my doctors office and they wanted me to go into L&D to get check. Well, low and behold, not only was I having contractions, I was 3 cm dilated and 75 % effaced!! I’m only 32 weeks so talk of sending me out to a hospital with a better NICU started immediately and I panicked.

Thankfully, I have a very caring, attentive doctor. I was started on the magnesium sulfate, and given two rounds of steroids then transitioned to Procardia. We still have zero idea why this happened, I was tested and examined for everything under the sun

After 4 days we got to go home on bed rest! I’m still on bed rest and the procardia and we are doing our best to keep baby girl in there until 3/20 when I will officially be 35 weeks!

This was the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced but I feel amazing today. Our doctor and the team at the hospital are the absolute best and my husband and I know that all three of us are in the best possible hands!

Side note, it is weird to just sit around in labor having contractions for a few weeks! Such a bizarre thing to experience!
