So my in-laws are throwing me a last minute baby shower and my MIL is treating me like a child. She literally wants to pick my outfit and is telling me what I’m going to wear. Then she asks if we plan on getting married after the baby so she can send her wedding dress to get altered for me. I understand her excitement and all but I feel like she’s kinda pushing it. I appreciate all she is doing I really do but how can I tell her gently to idk calm it down. And then she wanted to be in the delivery room which I don’t mind but I’d rather her come when he’s being born not during my laboring. She’s not one to really make me feel calm or relaxed. But idk how to tell her without sounding rude. She even went as far as asking me if her husband (my father in law) could be in the room. My own mother won’t even be there because my boyfriend and I decided that we just want it to be us during this intimate process. Ladies help! This is basically her first grand baby because the mom to her actual first didn’t let them be involved in anything.
