Should I let my husband be there at our daughter’s birth?

He will be traveling from the UK through Thailand and arrive a few days before my scheduled C-section. Considering how quickly the spreading of the virus is both in Europe and Asia, I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t concerned. I really don’t know what to do. As much as I want him to be there and celebrate this special moment together, my newborn’s safety is my top priority. I don’t want to take risks.

Strangely enough (at least for now) the virus does not seem to be effecting children/babies. Doesn’t mean it can’t happen but so far it’s not the norm. You’re probably fine, but if you’re still worried consult your doctor. It would be horrible to think your husband would miss the birth for something he doesn’t have.

I’d honestly probably make him wear a mask for 2 weeks until we know he’s fine. But I’d let him be there... with a mask on. 😂

Have him wash his hands or take a hot shower and change his clothes before coming to delivery room. He will be fine. Too many people freak out about this virus, the flu has killed more people. Tell him on his trip to make sure hes washing his hands good or hand sanitizer. No touching his face during the travel to reduce the risk getting it.
