First, if you register on Amazon you can get a gift box of goodies after $10 is purchased from your registry. I received a Dr. Brown’s bottle in mine and, while products vary, I’m guessing some kind of bottle is standard in that.

Also, Babylist sells a sample pack of (6?) different bottles so you can try a bunch without having to purchase starter sets for each.

My preference though is Kiinde. I love both the pump’n’feed bags as well as the reusable silicone bottles. The nipples for these are awesome! Plus they have a compatible feeding system that works for pouch feeding first foods, etc. Added perk is that the bags are recyclable, which was also important to us since they can’t be reused.

I’m lucky enough that my son will take my breast and also any bottle offered. That said, he would drool milk while feeding from every bottle we gave him - Medela, Nanobebe, Mam, Dr. Browns. Even with the slowest flow nipples (while some were better/worse than others), he’d lose a fair amount of milk down the front of him bc he couldn’t keep up with the flow.

I tried these bc you can pump into the same bag you feed from so you don’t lose milk during transfer. The fact that my LO feeds from these as good as he does from my breast was a fantastic surprise!

Plus you can use the pump adapter on the bottle to use whatever brand of nipple you prefer (if it’s not the Kiinde). They send a free starter pack (I still paid $6 S+H but that was less than one of the fancy $12 Medela nipples I tried).
