Do you automatically teach your children to value and respect diversity?

In regards to different cultures, different races, different sexual orientation, socio-economic status, different beliefs, etc.

I think you should teach your kids to simply be nice to all human being no matter WHAT unless given a sound reason not to.

I try to lead by example that way.. I answered ‘somewhat’ because I can’t say that I make it a formal lesson exactly, but instead I point out things I admire about certain people in her life... people of all different races, genders, religions, and lifestyles.. I like to tell her what kind of qualities in a person’s character that I respect, and the fact that the person might also be gay, or a minority, or share the same physical traits as her are all non-issues to the traits in their character that show who they are.. likewise if someone is doing something inappropriate or rude (like even a stranger out in public) ai use it as a teachable moment to explain to my child why that person was in the wrong or handling something poorly.. which I also do without regard to that person’s gender/race, etc... I want to show my kids that all people have equal potential to be their best or their worst at any given time.
