Sage smudging?

I’m hoping someone knows the answer to this but I have a 18 month old and I want to sage my house. I’m wondering if it’s safe to do when he’s home or should I make sure to do it when he’ll be out of the house? Thank you

Have him out of the house for a few hours. The smoke and can into his little lungs.
