Ultrasound at 8 weeks?

So twins run in my family, every female has had a set of twins, if not more than one, except me. I have 3 babies, 2 girls and a boy. I am 8 weeks pregnant with what will be my 4th living Child, but my 9th pregnancy (lots of miscarriages and 1 ectopic). This might sound dumb but I feel like I’m having twins. I know it’s impossible to tell without an ultrasound and honestly there’s nothing different about this pregnancy than my last pregnancy’s. Morning sickness is still terrible, still super hormonal, etc. I just have a gut feeling I guess.

Well my fiancé and I want to get an ultrasound, but my doctor won’t schedule one. I haven’t even seen him yet because he said it’s not necessary. My pregnancy was confirmed through a hospital though and I do know 100% I’m pregnant. So my fiancé and I are talking about going to one of those ultrasound places. We don’t mind paying out of pocket, we just want to see baby and how many. But is 8 weeks too early? Would they even be able to see the baby? Or tell if there’s more than one?
