Daycare issues

Samantha

Has anyone just pulled their child(ren) out of a daycare without giving 2 weeks notice? Have you had any issues? We moved my daughter to a new daycare and hate the new one now. They've given us a new issue every day and she's only been there for a week and a half. We decided to put her back into her old one. We changed because of location and to save some money but it isn't worth it. I'm hoping to tell them tomorrow (Thursday) that she's done after Friday. We don't feel comfortable with her there, but it isn't a safety concern. More behavioral. She isn't handling it very well and they have not been accommodating or friendly about it. It got to the point where the director asked me to change my work schedule to pick her up 45 minutes earlier, which would be an hour before closing because she doesn't want to pay someone for the last hour. There was a day where I picked her up at 5:15 and they were outside in the cold in the yard waiting with her. Shortly after that she started getting a cold. I'm so angry about all of this and I can't wait to go back to her old daycare which we loved. We should not have moved her.

You are paying for a full day correct? Then she should be able to stay... she shouldn't be made to wait outside. I ran a daycare, and it sounds to me like the worker doesn't want to be inconvenienced. I would definitely move her back to the old day care. Read over your contract that you signed going into the daycare. You will most likely have to pay, but in the grand scheme of things she will be better off at her other daycare.

Check the contract you signed to see if they’ll still charge you for the next two weeks.

We gave them a weeks notice only because we already paid for the last week during it registration and she didn't give us a hard time about it, luckily.

I pulled my son out when he was 2 without notice. There were a lot of issues both behavioral and concerns for his safety. They also didn’t change his diaper all day for the 2nd time after I had already spoken to the manager and owner in the past so I picked him up and never came back. They didn’t try to charge me anything but I also wasn’t on an automatic withdrawal so they would have had to fight me for it.

Yes I have done that but we didn’t get our money back. It was frustrating but worth eating the cost to get my son out of a bad place
