Make up beginner

I've never really worn makeup besides eyeshadow and lip gloss. A few times I've tried more but always feel I end up looking like a clown.

Now that I have newborn twin girls I'm sad that I'm not able to teach them how to wear makeup (in several years).

When I ask people for help on understanding the basics of foundation etc they say watch YouTube...

Well I have a toddler with autism and newborn twins...no time to rummage around YouTube or to discern which one I should listen to.

Anyone have specific suggestions of what to watch or read to learn?
