Staying together?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for 3 years. We are about to go off to college we have already talked about the possibility of breaking up this summer, but decided to stay together. Now, I’m not so sure. I feel like I should get out and explore other people and just experience the world (we were basically each other’s first everything). The thing is, he’s my safe option. What if I try to explore and never find someone while he moves on. I know he loves me and has said he doesn’t want to break up. I know I could have a decent future with him, I just don’t know if that’s what I want now. Any advice is helpful...
