We live in NC and my husband makes $20,000 a year. Yes, it's a tight budget but if you budget properly you can definitely make it work depending on where you live.

I live in Florida and 35k is absolutely not enough to live on unless we had a roommate. A 2 bedroom apartment with only 1 bathroom is 1400 a month excluding utilities, if you find one with a second bathroom, it's easily 1600-2000.😳 1 bedroom apartments are 1k to 1400 depending on location. If you happen to find a place for cheaper, you bet your ass it's a total dump and the electric bill would likely be nearly as much as the rent.

hell no, i wish LOL. where i live 120k-160k is considered low-income. i make $7k+/mo and if i didn't live at home and i wasn't a student, i'd be considered extremely poor 🤣.

So, I live in a pretty expensive area. Rent for 2 beds here is 1035 not including utilities. But we live off one income and it's close to 30k, and we are comfortable. We don't really splurge on things though, just get what we need so we can also save every month.
