Daycare bill during closure for covid 19?

I saw this on reddit but wanted to share- ask your daycare what bills will look like if they are forced to close. Seems a lot of places are asking 50% during closure. I’m going to ask my daycares this afternoon so I can plan expenses. I understand they have staff and bills to pay, but if I’m forced home from work I may not have a paycheck the entire time. We have savings for an emergency but just saying... something to think about.

My in-home is having us pay the full-rate if she closes. I think it’s ridiculous ... and depending on the length of the closure, it would be much cheaper for me to just pull him and re-enroll him somewhere else later. 😬

Ours is still open, but we still have to pay in full if/when they close. They have bills and teachers to pay too.

Mine is open but I don’t pay if they don’t go. I told them to temporarily move my kids to a daily rate until they go back. I’m not paying for a service I won’t be receiving. I used to work there too so I know they don’t pay their staff when things like shut downs happen.

In WI, there are new restrictions on child care facilities (no more than 50 kids, 10 teachers at a time). I'm a teacher so I'm not sending and trying to teach from home with her there. However we still have to keep paying full price.

My daycare is still open but my baby isn’t attending because his older brother is out of school. I’m paying for one week and utilizing a vacation week for the 2nd week

My sons tuition preschool is prorated for the month. They are only charging for 2 weeks in March.

My daycare is open,  we aren’t sending our kids but are still paying full. If they are forced to close it will be two weeks of full pay, and then 50% for anything longer than that.

I work at a daycare, we closed and I think they still charged one time, but they did tell them it was so that we, the teachers, could get paid. They also offered assistance to those who were affected by the pandemic. Although, as soon as they knew we were done for the school year they stopped charging the parents.
