To all the black girls/women here, please read this.. ❤

Ja

Hello ladies.

Recently I've seen black girls getting a lot scrutiny and made fun of on apps like Twitter, Tiktok, and Instagram. I have also seen a lot of black girls looking for skin bleaching tips on here. It took me back to 7th grade when one day in science class, we were discussing the integumentary system and melanin was brought up. All of the lighter skin girls started to brag and one of them called the dark skins "poo" and that caused laughter. It took me back to a time where my old white neighbor called me a tar baby. I was 6. It took me back to a time when I was 14 and trying to lighten my skin because I read that statistically, black women are considered the least attractive race of women..

Now I am 17. I'm emancipated. I fought depression and after many failed suicide attempts, I'm still here. I run track for my school and I'm damn good at it. I tell myself that I'm beautiful every day and I surround myself with nothing but positivity.

YOU are not ugly.

YOU have beautiful dark brown skin.

YOU have a gorgeous wide nose and big lips.

YOU have amazing kinky curls.

YOU are strong.

YOU are beautiful.

YOU can be anything you want to be.

Do you want to be a doctor? Push for it. Do you want to be a marine biologist? Push for it. Do you want to be a teacher? Push for it. Do you want to be the president? Hell, push for it.

There will be people bringing you down. There will be people who tell you that you can't do it. It's like you automatically carry a burden when you're a black woman, but it's up to you to start standing straight regardless of what heaviness is on your back. Write your own stories. Star in your own movies. Life is what you make it. And to you, the black female reading this, you're gonna be alright. You're gonna make it. You're gonna be successful. You're beautiful.. So, so, so beautiful. In case no one has ever told you that- I AM TELLING YOU. ❤
