When someone else drives, do you sit..

Question

My mom freaked out when my family left her house the other day and I sat in the front passenger seat while my husband drove. 
She said I should be sitting back there with my daughter every time until she’s forward facing. 
We have a mirror so we can see her, so I thought it was okay. Thoughts?

What are you supposed to do if you have 2 rear-facing kids? Makes no sense. If you want to, sure why not, but there’s no need to sit next to them.

I don’t understand what the problem is I sit in the front most of the time unless I feel like I need to sit in the back I also have a mirror in my car .. you know what’s best mama . Don’t let anyone dictate what your doing .

I always sit in the front with my husband like 90% of the time. If we stop at the store and he runs in to grab stuff I’ll sit in the back with baby while we are parked.

I’m a first time mom and couldn’t even drive by myself for first few months without freaking out that he could be dying back there.  I still sit in back to keep him company, but he seems to like the car so much now I probably don’t even need to.  
We mostly only do long rides as a family, like 1-3 hours so for those I still wouldn’t sit upfront.  It’s not worth trying to soothe him from the front seat on the highway if he melts down.

I only recently started sitting in the front sometimes. I sit in the back only because my boy hates the car seat. He will scream the whole time so I sit back there to entertain him. But ugh I miss sitting in the front so I do it every once in a while

I sit in the front because we have the mirror and feel she’s safe. The only time we sit in the back with her is road trips. Just due to longer periods in the car seat and easier to keep her entertained

Nope; first off my husbands truck isnt sutable for my daughters seat.. its a single cab, and would be very squishy with the three of us, second i hate being in tje passanger seat of mh own car.. it rarely happens (my husband complains all the time) so he sits in passenger.. my daughter sits behind the passenger seat.  And if we are traveling and she needs assistance (rare now shes 10months) my husband will hop into the back seat to help her.. but not all the time; we have a mirror, and their is no point in her being used to us being in the back..
