Why are people all about money 🙄

So I constantly hear about how my man is cheap because we got Walmart rings for $98. Like are you seriously so materialistic you wouldn’t accept a Walmart ring it’s ridiculous. My man originally proposed with a ring he made from guitar string because as a couples project we were doing. We were building a guitar together. People have also been saying he doesn’t truly love me because the proposal wasn’t big and public. I’d take the proposal I got at 3 am while making a bottle than some big fancy proposal. I’m not sure what love has come to these days but the way these people act makes me sad that women need some $1000 ring in order to be happy with a proposal
