I felt like a zombie on Prozac. I would space out and sleep a lot if my parents let me. I would try it see how it affects you and maybe your doctor can give you something else if you don't like it.
antidepressant HELP
hi! i’m 16 and i’ve never been prescribed to anything before. i just got prescribed to prozac and was wondering if anyone could tell me their experience with it including side effects. i tend to overthink when it comes to drugs because i smoked once and i hated it i hated not being in control of my body. i just don’t want to have a panic attack while on meds. thank u!

It took about a week for me to really notice it. Plus my parents pointed it out to me. Also when I missed a dose they could tell immediately. I would start having really bad anxiety and distance myself.

when did you start noticing the side effects? i forgot to mention i started 2 days ago and i’ve felt pretty good! :)
Prozac didn't work for me. I talked to my Psychiatrist and she recommended Cymbalta. If you do have negative side effects such as feeling not yourself or numb to everything talk to your doctor about trying something different at yournextappointment. There are so many different antidepressants out there and if one doesn't work another might. Cymbalta makes me feel more like myself. But at first any antidepressant will make you feel a little off till it in your system good. Around 3-4 weeks. What ever you do don't stop taking any medication without talking to your doctor first! I’m on Prozac and the first time I took it I got restless legs, so we switched to a different pill. After, we switched back to Prozac because it helped with my anxiety and sleep! It has been more than a year now and it is awesome! I feel great!

i started prozac two days ago and i’m feeling great, but i read somewhere that it takes weeks to kick in so i feel like i’m only happy because i know that i’m taking something to make me feel better if that makes any sense. do you remember when you started feeling different? 💗
My own experience with anti depressants was terrible. I became really slow, even responding to people i would be slow to reply. I took the whole box anyway. I hope your experience is much better x

I felt fine but it was people who i knew told me they would ask or tell me something and i would stare at them for like a minute or 2 then i would answer. I was fine with them for about a week, and then i felt so low x

i looked it up and it said that it makes people feel numb?? like no emotions whatsoever. i started two days ago and i’ve been great but when did you notice your slowness?
