Marginal Cord insertion...?

Question

So I had my anatomy scan yesterday at 20 weeks 2 days. Everything was fine but was told I had to have another scan at 32 weeks. I looked at my mychart once I got the results and everything was normal but it says I have a marginal cord insertion. I’ve never heard of it and the doctor didn’t even tell me that’s what it was (he was the high risk dr and I have a regular on appointment today to go over the scan). I’m guess I’ll find out more today. Any insights?

I had that with my first son and my doctor also ordered another scan to confirm the baby was gaining weight, but she wasn’t too concerned. Apparently some babies might not be able to get as much nutrition with a marginal insertion. Anyway I did another scan and everything looked OK. I was also getting bigger myself, so doctor was happy. I still remained a little paranoid and ate more protein and good fats like nuts and avocados regularly. My son came out almost 7 lbs, so it didn’t affect him. Im on my second pregnancy and did my ultrasound yesterday. I mentioned that I had a marginal insertion with my first so they could see if I had one with this and I did not, everything was normal. On the bright side you’ll have another scan and get to see the baby again soon ❤️
