Milk transition?

FTM here and wondering how to transition from formula to milk. Can you mama’s help me? Does it have to be whole milk? Or can it be 2% or 1%? How should I go about giving it to her? Can I do it a week before her 1st Birthday? Please and Thank you🙏

I did 2 oz at a time. So the first time it was 2 oz whole milk and then 4 oz formula. Every week I added on 2 oz of whole milk and decreased the amount of formula. I also made sure that I started this on a weekend while I’m not working just in case she had some sort of reaction from the milk.

I mix it I his formula, increasing milk and decreasing formula every few days. Tomorrow he’ll be on straight homo milk and he’ll be 1 April 6. My oldest didn’t fully transition until probley 13 months my middle weaned herself by 10.5 months.

Whole milk! Don’t give any child under 5 low fat milk unless directed by a doctor. 🙂

We started giving it one oz at a time mixed with whatever baby was drinking before (breast milk/formula).  Whole milk was recommended from our ped. Our son is eating TONS of food and actually prefers it to his milk so is now only drinking around 4oz each time he has his sippy. He is getting other forms of dairy throughout the day (yogurt,cheese). So if baby isnt drinking milk the same way they were with breastmilk of formula....its ok.
