For those of you with endometriosis, what was your tell tail sign that you had it? Growing up I always had extremely bad periods, to the point i would sometimes miss school because the pain was so bad. I started BC when I was 16, with the Nuvaring and that helped because I could easily skip my period. I then got an IUD at 18 because I didn’t like that my nuvaring kept coming out and I wasn’t noticing. My IUD caused me severe pain the entire time I had it, and my periods never went away like they say the sometimes do. I got my IUD out in October of 2019 and my periods for the first couple of months we’re actually pretty good. I didn’t start taking the BC my gyne prescribed me because I can only take progesterone only BC due to a migraine disorder, and I read that many of them can cause weight gain, hair loss, acne, depression, etc + we knew we wanted to start trying for a baby soon so it just didn’t make sense. The past two months, my periods have been INSANE. Last month the cramping on the first day was so bad I thought I was having a cyst rupture and almost went to the ER, this month, it came 4 days early, super heavy, and with super bad pain. This is also coincidentally the second month of us TTC to its even harder on me when this happens because I so desperately want to have a baby. What was your guys stand out symptoms of endometriosis and how did your gynecologist/doctor diagnose you? I feel like my gynecologist just blew off my pain complaints when I went last time, and that worries me. Thank you!
